Help with Biology Please answer?

Im having trouble with my biology assignments. Its about feedback loops??? Can someone please tell me what a feedback loop is? Explain it as if im like five years old because ive read about it a billion times and i still dont understand. can you give me an example of ways can a feedback loop rapidly increase the severity of a medical situation? Please help i know there are some bio experts out there!

    there are two types of feedback loops: negative and positive.

    the negative feedback loop works to decrease the difference between a set value point and the actual value point that was sensed. a positive feedback loop increases the difference.

    an example is shivering. your core body has a certain temperature it'd like to keep things at. this is the set value point. if the temperature drops and internal conditions begin to change, this is the actual avlue point. your body will start to shiver as a response to increase temperature. this is a negative feedback loop example.
