Do you store your information "in the cloud"?

Do you store your files, photos, etc "in the cloud" on someone else's servers? Are you concerned about the corporation losing your information, or it getting sold, stolen etc? Many corporations lose or "accidently release" information such as credit card numbers, medical records, customer databases etc. Others sell this information to 3rd party advertisers (i.e. spammers).

This is one big reason why I am uncomfortable about storing sensitive personal information (taxes, documents, emails, photos etc) in the cloud?

I've got a big problem with in the cloud. I'm not going to store information that way. If you use the internet for bill paying , banking and stuff like that, then your information is out there. Even if it's in those company computers. I just wish the companies did a better job of protecting our information. My computer is secure, I don't get malware because I know what I'm doing. In the last 10 years I have had some of my personal and or financial information stolen 4 times. Once my bank had a employee steal the information on 5 million accounts. I bought something online from Costco or bestbuy. They both use a third party online payment processing service. Again a employee walked away with information on Millions of accounts mine was one of them. Lass pass a online password manager I used was hacked. They still don't know what information was stolen and this was almost 2 years ago. Of Course I also had a Sony account when they got hacked and shut down their site for days.

Me too, I am also not in a big hurry that I need to have everything available everywhere I go. Does anyone here remember when you get a page on your beeper then you would go to a phone booth and call the number. Or having an answering machine because your cordless didnt reach that far. We didnt worry about contacting another, we would go meet them at work, bar or the park then when we get home we could call them, if they were home.

Yes I do but for extra security I encrypt sensitive files with strong passwords before uploading them to the cloud. Read this:
