Hello my friend and hope all is well with you! This is an interesting and fun question. As you well know Foreman was an all time great and Douglas was great one night in boxings biggest upset. Foreman earlier in his career was particularly dangerous early in fights but would get gassed later on but learned how to conserve his energy as he got older but still maintained that great punching power. Buster Douglas on that night in Tokyo was on a mission from God and dedicated the fight to his late mother fighting a brilliant fight against Iron Mike Tyson showing absolutely no fear and fighting toe to toe with Mike but at the same time boxing his ears off in the process. Too bad he wasn't that good the rest of his career as he could have become a truly great fighter. In 1995 Foreman was pursuing a title shot with Tyson believing he would beat Mike. Of course he later did beat the odds by defeating Michael Moorer by knocking out at the tender age of 45! My gut feeling is that George Foreman would have beaten Buster Douglas and even on his night in Tokyo because nobody stands in front of Foreman and wins as he would eventually land one of those bombs. I think Douglas would have fought well and possibly would be winning the fight when Foreman lands a big shot. And once he did that, the end would be near for Douglas.

Foreman all the way on this. Douglas was at his brilliant best beating Tyson. However before that he had a reputation as being an underachiever. Witness the May 30 1987 Tony Tucker fight when he quit in the 10th round. Foreman was a man on a mission and even though he was outclassed by Holyfield on April 19 1991 he had his moments in this fight. I think Foremans power would have been the difference in this fight.Remember Douglas next fight October 25 1990 he was 15 pounds overweight and got knocked out in 3 rounds by Evander Holyfield.

I think that George Foreman 1995 vs James Buster Douglas 1990 would be a good boxing match. I think that Douglas would display the same lateral movement that he displayed against Iron Mike Tyson. George would be firing his pawing left jab and ponderous punches at Buster. It would go the distance with Douglas earning a unanimous 12 round decision and retaining his Undisputed World Heavyweight Title. Big George would be marked up and would be extremely exhausted.

    Who Beat George Foreman

Foreman always had problems with lateral movement.

Douglas was phenomenal that night and Foreman was "put-a-fork-in-him" done by the time he fought Moorer.

    Douglas decisions him.

Foreman wins this fight at anytime in his career.

Douglas would not last 5 rounds unless he was lucky and then he could go for 8 or 9.

IMO, Foreman had a purpose and it wasn't a single motivated reason similar to Buster's honoring his mother's death. As soon as Buster won, his dedication then was over. The very next fight 1990, he lost to Holyfield by KO.George would have handled Douglas like he did Cooney IMO.
