  • Joe Louis vs Wladimir Klitschko ( plus info)?

    15 rounds.

Hi boxing forum, I'm taking a few months out and fulfilling an ambition of mine to travel around Australia and possibly New Zealand. I fly out tomorrow evening so I'm just letting you all know I will be on this forum a lot less over the next few months.

    All the best!

  • Carl Froch Questions?

    1. Where would you rank him pound for pound among all time great British fighters?

    2. Where would you rank him all time at super middleweight?

    3. How would he do against the 1990's British super middleweight greats: Chris Eubank, Nigel Benn, Michael Watson and Steve Collins? (No need to go into detail on the fights if you don't want because of the number of questions.)

  • How underrated is Tommy Gibbons?

The man fought 106 recorded fights between 1911-1925, losing only five, including no decisions. He beat many of his days top fighters from middleweight to heavyweight, was the only man to take Jack Dempsey 15 rounds in a title match and was only stopped once, in his last fight.

He had power, skill and was tough but when we talk about great boxers who never won a title he rarely gets mentioned.

What is your opinion of Gibbons and why is he so underrated?

  • Which three boxers below middleweight would you pick to help you in a fight?

Inspired by Ghazans question. Say you were cornered by a gang of toughs and you could call on any three boxers in history to help you but they had to be below middleweight.

  • Charles Bronson vs Charles Bronson - Actor vs Prisoner?

For those who don't know, Charles Bronson the prisoner is one of the most infamous convicts in history, a former armed robber and unlicensed boxer who has an intense fitness regime and has broken world records for consecutive press ups.

Before you say he would win easily, Charles Bronson the actor was an aerial gunner in World War Two and received the Purple Heart for his service, before that he was a coal miner who would volunteer for the most dangerous jobs because they were better paid.

He too kept himself in great shape well into old age.

Who wins between these two men who are known by the same name? 15 rounds.

  • Tony Galento Questions?

  • Jack Sharkey Questions?

Looking at this mans record he fought a great quality of opposition and on his day was formidable, beating such men as Tommy Loughran, Harry Wills, Primo Carnera, Max Schmeling, Young Stribling, Jimmy Slattery etc. However in all the questions I have seen on here about the great heavyweights Sharkey rarely gets mentioned.

    1. How good was he in your opinion?

    2. Where would you rank him among the heavyweight greats?

    3. Jack Sharkey vs Floyd Patterson, 15 rounds?

  • How would "Two Ton" Tony Galento do in today's heavyweight division?

He weighed around 235lbs, had a great left hook and could take a punch, people may say he was too short or too fat but he was a similar height and build to heavyweight James Toney.

Today's heavyweight scene is fairly weak, how would he do vs

    Chris Arreola.

    Tony Thompson.

    Samuel Peter.

    David Haye.

    Wladimir Klitschko.

  • Boxing Fans: What do you think of the movie On the Waterfront?

Just as a break from the Khan/Garcia questions!

Not really a boxing movie as such but stars Marlon Brando as an ex boxer and includes in the cast ex heavyweight contenders Tony Galento, Abe Simon and Tami Mauriello, it also features the line "I coulda been a contender" which is now an immortal boxing line.

I think this movie is a classic, what's your opinion?
