Ears still hurt with 4 year old re-piercings?

I had my first piercings when I was about a year old, maybe two. Then when I was six, they revealed. About four years ago, I was 11, and got them repierced. A year after, I got four more piercings, two on each ear, which no longer hurt, and the top one of each sealed anyways. So, now, I'm 15, and my bottom piercings still hurt rather badly, on a scale 1-10, about a 6, with a piercing in. Without, it's about a 2.5. Should I get them repierced at a professional? (Btw, all bottom piercings were at Claire's, ugh. Mid and upper (sealed) were at Pagoda). The reason for not going to a professional was because, obviously, I didn't know better, and Mom should've taken me to a pro, and we couldn't exactly afford a pro. Reason why I ask, is cause I'm planning to gauge them once the pain goes away. The pain never bothered me, which was good. I had fauxs in two days ago, and they were fine. So, how do I either heal them completely, or should I repierce them?

Oh, one last thing, how do ya gauge ears? In planning for some smaller gauges, not that big. I forget the numbers, but I believe it would be like a 8g? I'm not sure.

Thanks

Update:

I had my fauxs in today, and they were not very tight. I took them out for the night an hour ago, and began to bleed. It stopped while I was in the shower. Both bottom piercings are extremely tender, and I can't touch it without pain. Neither can I put in a simple stud piercing.

Do tattoo/piercing saloons pierce ears that have not been professionally pierced? I'm considering saving up for a needle piercing, and starting with that instead.

You might be wearing your studs too tight. I get this often when I wear my studs too tight, so I take them out for a day or two and put them back in again, but looser :)
