NAB Cup, Keep it or Abandon it?
whats are your thoughts on the NAB cup?
To me I like the Idea of Teams getting to test out a few new players and game plans but not sure its worth the possibility of Injuries, suspensions etc.. I think just 1 maybe 2 scratch match games would be enough.

In a nutshell you could say the Nab Cup enhances the excitement and build up of a new season of AFL Football, the sport we all live, breathe and love.
It gives us an insight into the possibilities, new structures, rules, players etc. that we may see in the real season. These parts of our great game are not set in stone, though. No, they are trials/tests. This is what I do love about the NAB Cup. The entire notion of testing certain things. Will they work? New rules, New Structures. You cannot possibly know if something is to be a success without testing it. The NAB Cup creates the opportunity to test this.
Plus who doesn't love a good old 9 point bomb through the big sticks?
Edit - Aw he'll always be my favourite of the lot running around in the AFL :)

I don't care either way, it means nothing but has it's plus side, I mean before the NAB Cup they used to play other sides in about 3 or 4 practice games pre season, some were played on really crap grounds, and you still got injuries so that is no different to the NAB, players will always get injured in pre season games no matter what they're called.
If you do well in the NAB Cup you get to play on the good grounds around the country which is a bonus too at this time of the year, with hard grounds etc, although the AFL has really improved in that dept, only allowing clubs to play at AFL approved grounds in NAB Challenge games, for teams that are out of the NAB Cup.
So to sum up, you're probably better off staying in the NAB Cup as long as you can, pre season injuries happen at training and also any practice match, there is no getting away from that.
edit- Hey Sandiee, good to see ya back. You've been missing for a while.
Surprised you still have the Gloved one on your profile picture, now he's gone to Collingwood or are you going to follow them now, lol.

Abandon it. Nab Cup is nothing more than a Injury ruling match. Players should be only doing Intra-Club games, or just 1 practice game against a Club they wish to play against. Other than that, the Nab Cup just brings Injury's after injury's after injury's. Get. Rid. Of. It.

Get rid of it. The NAB cup games are just glorified practice matches. The season is long enough as it is.
Very few teams take it seriously.Fans stay away from NAB cup games until the NAB cup grand final. Wouldn't be surprised if the TV rating were also poor.
