How should I treat my hair after dying it?
Next Friday I'm dying my hair (with help from a friend) and I've heard mixed things on washing it afterwards. The next day, I'm getting my hair cut, so they'll be washing it and using heat on it. Is this bad? Should I wash it right after I dye it? If so, what shampoo and conditioner should I use? Please give as much detail as possible. I'm new to this. Also, if you have any other tips, that would be helpful.

After coloring, you should wait a full 24 hours before washing your hair. The color needs time to fully set.
Products are up to you, but avoid the cheap ones if possible. As long as they are high quality, it doesn't really matter. You don't need to use products for color treated hair - they don't work any better.
Avoid the sun and any other UV exposure whenever possible. UV rays fade hair color like nobody's business. And if possible, have your color done by a professional instead of at home, especially if it's a drastic color change.

dying your hair once won't damage it too much, i have my hair highlighted and sometimes i dye it pink or lilac, if you're really that worried buy a treatment to leave on in the shower for a few minutes when you wash your hair, i personally use TRESemmé or Aussie.
When you have the hair dye on you wash your hair anyway to get the dye out, so you shouldn't have to wash it again until the next day.
I hope I've helped & good luck!
