In a few weeks ill be flying by myself, what to expect?
I'm 17 I've been overseas before with at least another person. In a few weeks time (12th April) ill be flying from Sydney to Wellington by myself to visit family and go in a holiday. Even though the flight is 3 hours I'm nervous about it but I have no clue why. What will I be expecting? I'm afraid ill miss my flight or go to the wrong gate.

Sweetie, if my 76 yr old sister can get herself from Mildura to Rome and all around Italy without speaking a word of Italian, you will be fine .
Arrive really early for your flight. I know it says 2 hours prior but you never know what is going to happen in Sydney traffic.
Listen to what your gate No is when you book in. If you forget it will be on your boarding pass as will your seat No and flight No.
Check that you don't have items in hand luggage that you should not have....common sense here, it is no biggie. Follow instructions for security.
Have your passport ready for Immigration and boarding pass ready for immigration.
Go to the allocated gate so that you know where it is, then you can go shopping, to the loo or buy a drink/food.
Go back to the boarding gate and wait for your flight to be announced. Then gt on the plane.
Settle into you seat and then you are off.
When you arrive in NZ just follow the crowd to Immigration. Have your passport ready and check for which queue to join. You will probably find there is a queue for Aussies and Kiwis. There is in Auckland, don't know about Wellington.
Then collect your luggage and head off to quarantine. You should have been given the form to fill in during the flight. Be honest. If you have something on the list, declare it.
Once through quarantine you are finished apart from finding whoever is meeting you. I am sure they will be waiting or will have given you instructions about where to meet them.
Good luck.

Jesshika, your just getting the pre-flight jitters, your being completely normal. I don't know about you getting to the wrong gate, when I have to fly internationally, the airline tells me to get the airport three hours early.
Look Jess, once you check in and get your boarding pass, you go through the security scanning procedure, really it's a piece of cake, you have already been through this stuff kiddo. I usually have heaps of time and stop and have breakfast if I'm on an early flight, or sit and grab a drink, then head for the departure lounge.
Jess I am what you would call an old fart, I just flew from Istanbul to Rome and back, and I do not speak Turkish, but I managed. Your going to Wellington, and lucky you they speak English.
You know, you just mentioned something that still amazes me, it takes longer to fly to Perth Western Australia, than it does to fly to New Zealand, from Sydney, that is something.

I am 13 and I have been flying by myself from the Gold Coast to Melbourne since I was 11. You will be fine. Just listen closely to what the speakers say, follow signs and if you have to, find someone who works at the airport and ask for assistance. You can also ask someone else who is on your flight if you can find someone. Some people will help. There are nice humans out there! Best of luck.

Sounds like you're just getting nervous butterflies. You can always look online and familiarize yourself with the airport's layout or even print out a map of the airport. When you go to the airport there's always plenty of monitors showing arriving/departing flights, their gates, and their on-time status.
