    1) The book would be adventurous with a hint of romance. No Mary-Sue characters, AKA no perfect people. That makes it boring. A good plot with interesting twists to it. Maybe something in the beginning to draw me in and keep me wondering.

    2) Having details to explain the important moments and not too much repeating words. For example; She kept on running, her breath coming out in jagged gasps. Skidding to a halt, she looks around before running again. She heard the pounding footsteps of people running after her. She was afraid, so her fear made her run faster. NOTE; there were a lot of "she's" and "run" That repeating what you might want to avoid. Synonyms like sprinting or dashing would make it more interesting.

    3) If there were good cliff-hangers, but not overly dramatic; I'd also take that book. If everything the characters plan to do is obvious, then I wouldn't buy it. If there was an air of mystery to it, everything would be more riveting for me.

That's what I look for in books to buy. This is rather lengthy, but I hope it's helpful

You should write about what you feel personal but twist it slightly in to a weird almost fantasy world. Like losing a loved one except if you lose all your family your deported to a strange country where things are really different. The more unnatural it is the better.

You shouldn't write to please the masses, you should write because you want to.
