Can Nurse Practitioners constantly write prescriptions for family members out of state?

A family member of mine who lives in Michigan is constantly getting prescriptions written by her daughter in law, who is a pulmonary nurse practitioner in Indiana. The prescriptions she writes her are for antibiotics and anti depressants as far as I know. Is this legal? Can this NP be reported or is this an acceptable practice? Please site your source with your answer. Thanks so much!

They are supposed to be able to show a traceable pattern of care to substantiate the prescription. They are not supposed to just write out prescriptions for people they have never examined.

I am no longer a tremendous fan of Killswitch have interaction but particularly dig the song Rose of Sharyn. The tune used to be written for the singers mom for the reason that she died and used to be quiet young....Excellent song!!!
