I would like to do a full back ground check on a person?

what kind of information can I get by paying any agency for it.

About how much will it cost?

Update:

What would be the best information to get..

Update 2:

Thank you all answers are very good and welcome.

If I get a full report do I have to keep the information on it secret or can I make it public.

( I'm not talking about posting it on the web)

Just to friends and other interested parties including the person that I did the background check on??

Of course the only real "full" background check can be done by a police officer. Only the police can read the sealed juvenile records and the papers filed when a person is charged with a crime - but not convicted - say for some technicality.

    Background checks could include:

    - sealed juvenile records

    - arrest record

    - conviction record

    - civil court proceedings

    - credit check

    - current and past due debts

    - professional licenses

    - real property owned

    - medical records

    - all insurance claims ever filed

    - firearms ownership (some states)

    - drivers record

    - friends, family and associates

    - probation, parole records

    - school records

    - bank accounts

    - foreign travel

    - phones, cell phones, emails, social media

    - utility records

    Hope this helps

If you pay a private investigator you get criminal, civil, aliases, all the SSN used, previous addresses, spouses, sometimes family members or reletives, and a lot of other stuff. We charge $125 to $225 for them if you have their name and address. It gets easier and cheaper if you have their date of birth and better their SSN.

Source(s): don't rely on those internet background specials. Those databases rely on old and outdated info from 3rd party sources.

    Everything except medical records..

Source(s): ....I am a retired police officer. I retired as a sergeant, after 29 years, from a very large department, about 12,000 officers. I was a patrol officer for 4 years in a very diverse area. I was a tactical officer in the high rise project areas of my city. We called it vertical patrol in that we walked the the stairways of the high rises most of the time. I did that for 5 years and was promoted by test to detective. I worked violent crime (homicide, sex, officer involved shootings, robbery, kidnapping, serious non property incidents) for 11 years until I was promoted to sergeant. I worked as a street supervisor, a bicycle patrol supervisor and a desk sergeant/watch commander. During my time as a tactical officer and a detective I was a unit representative for the police union. I have a B.A in English and an M.S. in Law Enforcement Administration....

You will get as much as you are willing to pay for. It will cost as much as what information you want. Maybe it would be more productive for you to actually contact one of the agencies that does this and ask them.
