Dry, Chalky Tongue that has a constant burning sensation for 3 weeks?
My tongue has been feeling AWFUL the past 3 weeks. I brush, floss and use mouthwash daily. So I decided to switch toothpastes and use hydrogen peroxide to rinse with. Well that didn't help. My tongue has white patches sometimes too. I brush my tongue twice a day and sometimes I can't really taste my food. I have read about BMS, burning mouth syndrome... but I don't know if that is what it is. I am going to see my dentist about this soon but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how long it lasted? Sometimes I just want to rip my tongue out. I drink CONSTANTLY too. I also have a lump on the inside of my gums in front of tongue on the bottom, I read lots of people have these. Mine has gotten bigger but doesn't hurt unless it's stabbed by food or when they do x rays at the dentist, then it REALLY hurts. Nothing in my diet has changed. I'm almost 36 years old. I've been married for 15 years, can't think of anything new except the toothpaste I was using was new but I changed back to my old toothpaste a week ago and my tongue is still doing the same thing.

You could have a yeast infection in the mouth! (more commonly known as, Thrush.)
It can actually happen to anyone for many different reasons. Antibiotics, birth control pills, stress, diet, etc.
Mouthwash can make this problem worse! Try eating some plain/low sugar yogurt! The live and active cultures in yogurt can help feed the good bacteria in your mouth which will help them fight the bad bacteria (candida)
Anyhow, it sounds like you could have this. I had this once and I was so freaked out. It was really uncomfortable and the more I stressed the worse it got. I finally just stopped all of my sugar intake for a while and ate yogurt and greens, etc. Your doctor can also prescribe you a special mouthwash for this.
I've read that if thrush gets more severe it can travel into the throat!
Best wishes, and get well!
Update: Do these symptoms match yours? I found another tongue condition: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH000204...

Please pour 1 drop of Rose Water in your both eyes thrice a day or more to minimise burning sensation , also splash fresh water to your eyes in open condition after toilet in the morning , having water in mouth. Warm up 500ml water to 40 deg C add 2 tea spoon Sodium Bi Carbonate ( Baking Soda used in cooking) now gargle it three times a day for sore throat. Dark circles under eyes are due to not completing 8 hours sound sleep & undue tension so please have Biochemic medicine KALI PHOS 6X of reputed brand , take 6-8 tablets at bed time in your mouth & after dissolving in saliva swallow them. please continue for 15 days to remove tension from brain. Apply Mint juice & Cucumber ( Kheera) juice & cabbage juice all mixed in same quantity over the dark circles at bed time & in morning for 1 hour duration. this will get rid of them.
