On the 1040, it's line 37 ... the one that says "THIS IS YOUR ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME".
On the 1040A, it's line 21.
On the 1040EZ, it's line 4.

1040 page 1 line 37 or page 2 line 38 will have your AGI adjusted gross amount for the 2011 tax year when you are looking at your 2011 copy of that tax year 1040 FIT return for that purpose.
Line 37 Subtract line 36 from line 22. This is your adjusted gross income 37 $$$$$$
Line 38 Amount from line 37 (adjusted gross income) 38 $$$$$$

each line is clearly labeled just read each on
it should be line 35 or 37, but it will be clearly identified
