Studies have given conflicting results with some studies finding an increased risk, while other studies find a decreased risk.

There is a large ongoing study called EPIC, where they follow 521.000 people in 10 countries over time, asking them for detailed information on their eating habits and other lifestyle/environmental factors, and collect information about the cancers that these people develop. This is a good way of looking into these things, because they are not asking people to try and remember how much milk they ingested etc. after they developed their cancer (with the possibility of recollection bias).

The results are in for bowel cancer, and they show that ingestion of milk decreases the risk of bowel cancer.
