What is your favorite kind of movie to see? 10 points.?

The ones that end up sticking with me are very character-driven and that usually means drama or dramatic comedies/comedic dramas. I especially like high concept movies that have a very grounded message. One example was Another Earth- the point of the movie was that a mirror earth ended up somehow alongside the first one, but such a high concept acted as a vehicle to serve themes of redemption, grief, and regret relative to the main characters (only two).

Another movie that I really liked along that vein was Safety Not Guaranteed. About time travel, but really about two characters trying to navigate a world that was too cynical for them.

And of course Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind was a lot like the two I mentioned above. High concept memory-erasing idea that merely provided a backdrop to explore a troubled relationship.

I guess all these also have a romantic type relationship at the center, though it's not "romantic" romance - it's pretty real feeling. I hate when love becomes romance. So there is something else that seems to crop up in my favorite movies.

Hmm. Good question. I like dramas mostly. I really like Disney movies too though. My top five movies (in no particular order) are probably:

-The Hobbit

-Spirited Away

-Forest Gump

-The City of Ember

-x-men first class

well, those are all of the ones I can think of right now, I probably do have better ones, but I can't think of any.
