We should be able to end it after a generation or so. The problem is we still need it. People who say 'Well, it's been a while, the problem is solved, we don't need it any more' are the same people who didn't think it was a good idea to begin with. We have made progress but the problem is still not solved, so we still need some kind of AA.

Yes. When Affirmative Action was put into play it was needed, necessary and a very good thing. Problem is is that right now, in today's world, it's yet another entitlement program.

The last thing blacks and females want is for everybody be treated exactly equal. That would be the end of so called "affirmative action", quotas, set-asides, etc..

Source(s): They better be careful what they wish for. Separate female bowling, golf, tennis, pool, even darts and poker. Where is the equality there? Not just sports, everything else. No more "Stop, Slow" signs at construction sites, hand them the shovel.

Definitely should be stopped now. Actually it should have been stopped a while ago. Discrimination in favor of 1 or more groups (women, ...) is still discrimination against all other groups!
