which software is best for streaming media on my smart TV from pc using wifi link?

I have Smart Viera (Panasonic). I can play all the files: avi, mpg, mp4, mpeg , mp3, using windows media player...

But I can't play mkv and flac files. The TV does support those two formats, and I can play them using USB drives. I don't know it's limitation of the TV or WMP.

I think a good media server software would solve my problem..

    You can use VLC Player and/or Media Player Classic. Both are free and can play a variety of formats.
