Which team (if any) could be the 'Adelaide/West Coast' of 2013?

By this i mean which team do you think could shoot up the ladder like West Coast did in 2011 and Adelaide in 2012.

For me i think Brisbane have a list that could lift considerably this season, i currently don't have them tipped for the 8 but it wouldn't surprise me if they did make it. The competition will be tough though

I think North Melbourne can do it. Considering how they've picked up their game plan midway through the season, and started winning more games we wouldn't have expected.

Geelong however can also do it as well. They've had a fair few retirements no doubt, but their youth is looking sharp and in great spirit.

Carlton, under Mick Malthouse can also prove us wrong and climb up the ladder fast. But then again, could choke again like last year and fall out of the 8.

Of the real bottom dwelling teams from last year, Brisbane have to be the best shot. Of those near miss sides, I just finished watching a replay of Richmond vs North and I reckon Richmond looked very very good in that, so I'd rate those two highly.

Of course any team shoving in has to do better than Carlton and Essendon who both showed a lot early but failed later and then get past the big five in Collingwood, Geelong, Sydney, Hawthorn and West Coast. It would be quite an effort to do that in the space of one year.

  • As much as I'd like that to be Port Adelaide, I'll say that's going to be Brisbane. I'm predicting them to just sneak into the 8 this year. For my team Port, 10-12th finish.
