1998 Mercury Villager that keeps cutting off on me.?

It runs fine while in park, but when I put in in gear to pull off, it keeps cutting off on me. It has had a tune up. I was told that its probably the fuel injectors or the air intake sensors. I know for a fact that the fuel injectors have not been cleaned.

Update:

I had it checked and the codes that came up were for the air intake sensor

If it idles fine but, stalls when you put it in gear and touch the gas, you probably have a failing distributor assembly.

This is a common failure on the Nissan VG33E 3.3L V-6 engine

Put car in drive press the gas and brake at the same time if the car stays running

most likely it's the mass air flow or throttle position sensor

I am sure the check engine light is on

go to advance or autozone and ask them to check it with the obd (computer)

write down the codes and it will tell you exactly what it is

Just take $20 or so to the local oil change center! have them Clean your THROTTLE BODY and the IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE! The IAC fine tunes the AIR entering the engine for you! STOp[ using CHEAP oil changes with CHEAP engine oil Use MOIBL ONE 0w-30 oil to PROTECT your sensors from SLUDGING UP and wasting FUEL! Tha is a FINE and EXPENSIVE NISSSAN engine The EXPENSIVE maifiold will SELF DESTRUCT with time if the AIR/FUEL mixture is off base. The IAC makes SURE your MIXTURE is right. GOODLUCK!!

i'm fantastically helpful you're meant to have merely the serpentine belt, and consistent with danger the flexibility guidance separate. It appears like your AC compressor is long gone and somebody desperate to depart it on my own and use separate belts for each of something. additionally, in case you regulate lower back to the serpentine belt you ought to have make helpful the compressor gets checked, and make helpful each and every of the pulleys it is going around, alongside with the tensioner pulley, strikes freely and all are aligned with one yet another.

Doubtful that it's the fuel injectors. That's everyone's first guess but that's rarely it. They put detergent in gasoline these days so they aren't as much trouble as they used to be. I know because I replaced one of my own, & that wasn't the problem.
