Yes. He wanted the Sequester, threatened to veto any bill that didn't meet his demands and, then said it wouldn't happen.

In the meantime voters are being bombarded with "scare tactics" from the Chicken LIttle Democrats who are threatening increased terrorist activity due to lack of airport security, and worse.

Obama got what he wanted in the creation of the Sequester and it will be on him when communities start to feel the pinch. The 2014 midterms will reflect voter dissatisfaction with Democrats and Obama's tantrums.

Charles, you are kidding, right? The President has already reduced the deficit by 2.5 Trillion dollars over the next 10 years -- and 80% of that was in cuts with 20% in revenue. As soon as the Republicans will put on the table what THEY want to cut, since it is THEY who say a cut must be made, perhaps we could move forward, but they are unwilling to put anything but SS, medicare and medicaid on the table and the elections proved that is no feesable per the American People. The President has not raised taxes AT ALL, the only thing he allowed was for the Bush era tax cuts to SUNSET as they were intended to do, they with the help of the Dems in the Senate and a vote in the House, he was able to get the taxes lowered back partially to where they were for the MIDDLE class and the poor.

As soon as the Republican side puts up 2.5 Trillion in deficit reduction to equal what the President has already done, AND with 80% of that reduction being in Revenue to equal the Cuts from the President, and with 20% of the reduction to be in cuts, then we will be able to get somewhere.....fair is fair and equal is equal. Unfortunately, you don't follow reason or truth, you listen to the Right Wing media machine.

No. The sequester is automatic spending cuts. There are no choices on what gets cut; it's automatic.

Obama cannot and will not intentionally harm American citizens, but conservatives know the sequester will hurt and want to make sure Obama gets the blame for it. That's why they spread lies, like that Obama gets to decide what gets cut and will try to hurt Americans as much as possible.
