When making a cheese ball, with the main ingredient cream cheese, what's best to wrap it in, plastic wrap, foil, wax paper??

I have used all of those and it still sticks!
roll your cheese ball in chopped nuts or chopped chipped beef then wrap with cling wrap. Less sticking to the protective wrapping.

Agreed, the best thing you can do is put a hard or crunchy coating (like nuts, cracker crumbs, poppy seeds, etc.) on the outside of the cheese ball before you try to wrap it. I'd use plastic wrap, as the foil might produce an off taste.

plastic wrap all the way. foil can tear & stick & the wax from wax paper could like melt onto the cheese

There is an aluminum foil called Reynolds Release. Not much sticks to it much.
