Travel to Slavonski Brod from Canada?

This year I'm planning on taking a trip with my dad to his home town of Slavonski Brod, Croatia. I've checked ticket prices to Zagreb however they are a little costly. I was wondering if anyone else has experience traveling around that area. I have heard that you can fly somewhere relatively close then take a train or ferry. Any info would be appreciated.

    Anywhere in Europe from Canada is going to be costly.

    I unquestionably have been to Canada as quickly as, to gamble. It became relaxing. I gained money, possibly it relatively is why. Then they took the Canadian money and made it into money. I took the money returned homestead. while the border guy asked if I had something to declare, I leaned over the driving force and pronounced "Canadian strippers are grimy."

    never heard of slaski bod. sounds like poland.

    i would fly to poland and take the train cheaper.
