How to tell if he likes me?

There is this boy in my vocal class who I think is really beautiful, kind, open-minded, and intelligent. He speaks his mind and always thinks deeply on subjects unlike any other guy I have ever known. I think he is impressed that French is my first language, and that like him, I speak my mind and think deeply. He has also expressed the thought that my vegetarianism is 'very awesome'. In class, I notice him looking at me when I do my work, or I will catch his eye casually and he will look away after blushing a bit. After my latest vocal performance in the class, he said 'that was simply beautiful! It was like something I could hear on a CD or pay to see on Broadway. It was my favorite, personally, of all the others'. He has said that he supports LGBT rights, and on his twitter he posted a half naked picture of Adam Levine, and often calls him gorgeous and handsome. However, he is in the closet if he is gay, but my man question is does he like me? Can you tell? I want to talk more with him because he always brings interesting points to conversations, and also have a potential relationship there too, but I always get flabbergasted around him. Any ideas?
