How to get over someone?

If you're the kind of person with high standards when it comes to liking someone; so high in fact that you've only ever met one person you'd want to be with, how do you go about getting over them if they're not interested in you? If they're all you think of? Help me please?

Keep in mind that I find it hard to be attracted to people, so answers "find someone else" (or similar) are pointless.

Thanks.

i understand where you're coming from. you are simply built this way. the only possible way to move on from him/her is if you get tired of feeling this way. don't change anything. if you're still talking to him, don't stop it. if you're still seeing him, keep doing it. the more you stop yourself, the harder it is to forget and to move on. the more you deny yourself of thinking about him, the more you are likely to do otherwise. so just keep doing what you're doing now. soon you'll get so fed up with feeling this way, and naturally, move on. it may take a week, a month, a year. but you will tire of him. you will.

Think that it will never be with that person again and think what a waste it would be to sit and get depressed about it, what a waste of time and effort. Keep doing things and exercise or go for walks, it helps clear the head of negativity. Be around good uplifting people and just get on with it. You are not the first it has happened to nor will you be the last.

Occupy yourself with something fun. It could be an activity, music, or hanging with friends.

Also you can just learn to adjust your standard to meet your future girlfriend/wife, maybe you're standard are way too high and horrendous.

Try and occupy yourself with things to do or go to places you want to go to, time waits for knowone and their's things you can do in the meantime. Trust me from experience that's how I got over someone and I felt better for it in the long run

Eat mcdonalds. Then KFC. Then mcdonalds again. It should do the trick.
