Crochet Experts : Can you decipher the 2nd round in this beautiful daisy pattern ....?

The white petals are joined to a round Behind the main yellow circle of dcs/trs.

It appears to be either chains or longer posts [trs/dbltrs] within which the white petals are made.

Can you creative crocheters help me out here ?

It'd be nice if you could write the requested part in some detail ; but I'd be grateful even if you only guide me in the right direction....

I won't be using this for any commercial purposes; only want to make & attach to my new crochet socks - its such a beautiful flower :-) I've searched for something similar, but was unsuccessful.

Here are the pics : http://www.etsy.com/listing/65866021/daisy-dukes-f...

Truly appreciate your time & effort.

Update:

Thanks, Miz T ! You took the time to write out the Entire pattern. :-) However, this the easier & quicker way of making the flower - a regular way. As the pic shows, the tops of the 15 dcs are clearly visible as complete chains.

Hence the next round is definitely made Behind these; whether there was a chain added, or whether there was another row of dcs/trs behind the first round, is what I wanted to know. And, if it was another row of dcs, then Where would the petal stitches go - the posts of 15 dcs are very neat & there is not other place to insert to hook ..... So its most likely a chain with equidistant sl-st . ?

Update 2:

1. So its most likely a chain with equidistant sl-st . ?

2. And each sl st will have to be made through the dc posts ?

3. Should the chain be 15 stitches in all or 13 or 17 ? Each will obviously have a different effect on the center.

    Here's how I'd do it:

With the yellow yarn, make a ring (I like a magic circle; you may prefer a ring of chains). Ch 3 and work 15 dc's into the circle. Sl st in each sc around; sl st into the top of the ch 3. Fasten off yellow. 16 sts.

With white, fasten on with a sl st into any st of the yellow center.

Round 1: *Ch 5, tr, ch 5, sl st. Repeat from * around the center. 8 petals.

Round 2: Repeat round 1, working the second row into the same stitches, behind the first round. The second round produces 8 more petals, offset from the first 8 so that the "back" petal starts where a front petal ends and ends where a front petal starts. 16 petals.

Press or finger press the petals to emphasize the points.
