Will our Avatars disappear from Yahoo Answers on April 1st 2013?

You can keep the avatar that you are currently using, you just won't be able to make a new one or alter your existing one. Best to save it on your hard drive because if Yahoo loses it it will be gone forever. You can even make a variety and save them for future use.

This only effects the avatars made through Yahoo Avatars, you will still have the option to download a custom one.

I won't miss them since mine is a custom, but many users will.

You will still be able to use your existing Yahoo Avatar and you can store your avatar at profiles.yahoo.com but after April 1, 2013 you will no longer be able to go to the avatars page and create or update your Yahoo avatar.

My Yahoo avatar was not important to me. i prefered using images i found on the web especially from My Little Pony.

i would be less interested in using Yahoo Answers if no avatars were to appear but there's nothing that indicates we cannot still use an avatar - just not a Yahoo avatar. i like using avatars to express my individuality and uniqueness.

Yes, if a person doesn't download their cartoon avatar and upload it to their Yahoo profile, as instructed in the blog, they will lose their image. Explanation and instructions here:

Doesn't matter to me; I've always used a custom one, and fewer folks seem to be using any at all, so I'm used to it.

My avatar is very important to me, and I don't want then to take away the cute cartoon avatars.

you could constantly hit upon a image for an avatar someplace else. Edit : maybe i'm incorrect yet I interpret this statement to point that Y/A won't supply that area of comic strip avatars to choose for between .

Yes my avatar reflects my life. Eating and sleeping and having fun with little birds. :D
