HP Processor microcode error?
I bought an HP 7600 desktop on eBay and Im getting a weird error message after upgrading the CPU, "Missing or invalid processor microcode update, please contact HP for a new microcode update to support the new processor stepping". The system boots if I push F1, my question is: is it bad for the CPU and/or motherboard to run the machine as-is without a new BIOS update?

Okay b has absolutely no idea what he's talking about.
Put the old processor back in, update the BIOS drivers, and you're good to go.

yes it if you don'ttupdatete you computer will eventuallyly crbecauseouse the bios is not right for the cpu i would get that fix asap
