How does a Cordless Electric Kettle work?

im about to get one, just wondering how that type of kettles work?

where to plug it in if it has no cord...

any advantages in it?

    It has two parts: a base that plugs in to a wall outlet, and a kettle that sits on top of the base. When the kettle is on the base, it gets power from the base. You leave the base plugged in all the time. The kettle is the "cordless" part because you can lift it off the base and take it to where you want the hot water, without unplugging from the wall and having a cord trailing all over. The principal advantages are safety and convenience because of not having a cord attached to the part with the boiling water in it. They also boil water very quickly and shut themselves off when the water has boiled.

    Cordless electric kettles and irons are the best things that ever happened. There are many good ones out there, but I'm a Philips fan, they make good electric irons (had one that's more that 10 years old). Other brands like Rowenta, Sanyo are good too.
