Its sad it is incredibly sad. Not only are we losing the constitution we are losing our back bones that once made us great well rounded citizens. The masses do not even attempt to inform themselves and take everything they here form the news and people in power as the absolute truth. I saw a poll the other day that said only 57% of Americans think drone strikes on American citizens on American soil is unconstitutional. That is ridiculous it should 100%. Our minds have just been so attacked and programmed. The people are so divided, i doubt that even an armed uprising would succeed at this point

The fact is though that American citizens do turn and can become terrorists, simply being an American is no guarantee that they are loyal to their country, I'd rather take out a terrorist in any way possible than to allow him to go on and kill thousands just because he's a citizen.

I think a lot of this is fear that simply being a dissident would make you a target, a basic distrust that some people have of government.

I don't see that happening here, we have too many eyes, ears, and tongues to keep anything a secret.

I wonder when I see a question like this if you really care about the Constitutional principles involved or if its just yet another attack against the Obama presidency. I think the theory is that during a war you do not hold trials for people who are at war against the US. Even during WW2 I bet if American citizens had taken up arms with the Nazis or the Japanese army, trials would not have been held for them, they would have been just as open to being shot on the battle field as any German or Japanese soldier. Its considered an active war situation now, the war on terror, they started it, remember 9-11?
