I'm only 48 and my toe nails are turning yellow?

    Age has nothing to do with yellow toenails. It may be a fungal infection, it can be caused by poor circulation (think iron-deficiency), diabetes, a poor immune system in general, etc.

    To prevent fungal infections, simply keep your feet clean and dry. A doctor is also able to prescribe anti-fungal cream if you're needing a quicker fix.
