Floyd Patterson 1964 vs Joe Frazier 1970?

I know a lot of people believe that Frazier would knock Floyd out early because of Floyd's chin but this could be a better fight than they know as Eddie Machen gave a young Frazier a tough fight early in Frazier's career and while Machen certainly was talented, he's not better than Patterson. So here is a rundown of each fighter:

Smoking Joe was the ultimate aggressive fighter much like Marciano was with that great left hook, a ton of heart and determination with a lot of endurance. First man to defeat Ali!

The fight

Frazier would come out smoking but Patterson would box very intelligently keeping him from getting inside and utilizing his great speed for the first 5 rounds. In round 6 Frazier would land a series of hard shots including some good right hands slowing Patterson down. In round 7 Frazier would score the first knockdown of the fight with a perfectly timed left hook. Patterson would get up and survive the round. Patterson would be on his bicycle in round 8 as he clears his head boxing carefully and even landing some good shots on Frazier. In round 9 Frazier would turn up the heat and force Patterson into a corner and land some great shots to the head and body as Patterson goes down for the 2nd time. Somehow Floyd gets to his feet before the 10 count but the referee decides to stop the contest.

Joe Frazier would demolish Floyd Patterson at any time in his career. Joe would hit him with the left hook and Floyd would be out. Maybe not as fast as Liston but no more that 2 or 3 rounds. Frazier was too big strong and hit way too hard for the glass jawed Floyd Patterson. Patterson should have never been a heavyweight. He should of competed as a lightheavyweight were he could have been great.

The earlier versions of Floyd Patterson prior to his KO losses to Liston would have been more competitive against the 1970 version of Joe Frazier I think.

That Patterson had known what it's like to be kayoed, losing his first to Ingemar Johannsen but coming back powerfully to kayo the big punching Swede twice in a row while also holding KO wins over the likes of Brian London, Tommy Jackson and Archie Moore.

But I don't think even that younger, stronger, more impetuous version of Patterson could have stand to the power of the Frazier of 1970 who was on a 26-0 run spiked by KOs over Doug Jones, George Chuvalo, Manuel Ramos, George Johnson, Buster Mathis, Bob Foster, Jimmy Ellis and Jerry Quarry and decision over the hard-as-nail Oscar Bonavena.

Frazier. 1970 Joe Frazier beat Ali and could've beaten any all-time great heavyweight. He was at his absolute best, physically, mentally and skills-wise. Patterson had had problems with big punchers and Joe was a big-time puncher. Even George Foreman feared him. It'd be Frazier by late-round stoppage or via UD.
