If my glasses prescription says polycarbonate does it matter if I get mid-index lenses?

Ok I am buying eye glasses online and my prescription says Remarks: Polycarbonate and the website recommends I get mid index lenses. Does it matter which one I get? And if the axis on my prescription says Axis OD: x010 do I put 10 on the axis thing on the website or does the x matter?

Get 1.58 index. The lowest index is: 1.49 (regular plastic). 1.56 is a mid index lens for up to – 4.00. Polycarbonate is: 1.58 index. After that comes: 1.61, 1.67 and 1.74. 1.61 is good for up to -6.00. 1.67 + 1.74 are good for very strong prescriptions. x010 == 10degrees.

the countless eyeglasses places have one among those workstation software that, given the lens power, refractive index and physique length, will calculate the approximate lens thickness (coefficient of nerdosity) for glasses. they are going to be slightly thick yet, if those are meant to be "emergency spare glasses" i assume the cosmetics isn't that massive of a deal. one element to think approximately, I incredibly have heard that the polycarbonate lenses have very adverse optics in stable powers. in case you think of your glasses gets trashed because you play particular activities, it truly is advisable to think approximately activities glasses or contacts.
