Interestingly enough, only one Doctor gave his name.
Peter Cushing, in the movie "Doctor Who and the Daleks", introduced his companion and himself in this manner: "This is my granddaughter Susan, and I am Doctor Who."
Needless to say, it was not a popular scene.

The sequence is going to chop up into 2 areas this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. area one is in Spring with 6-7 episodes and ending in a cliffhanger, then back in the fall with the the rest 6-7 episodes. Moffat says it extremely is to deal with the story arc. curiously there is going to be a great plot twist in the middle yet no clues yet. Neil Gaiman's tale is finally appearing, curiously as episode 4. won't be able to wait! Amy and Rory are nonetheless the companions. God, i won't be able to wait!

Peter Cushing did not play a time lord though, but a human named Doctor Who and it may not be abput his name but who he actually is
