Have you though about this at all?
1. At current prices, producing electricity from natural gas is cheaper than from coal.

2. There are so many externalities to using coal that even if nominal prices were lower than natural gas we shouldn't want to use coal:

3. And furthermore, per unit energy, coal has much more greenhouse gas emissions than either oil or natural gas.

So why would you want to rely more extensively on coal? Are you going to suggest going back to asbestos too?
