Is it weird to ask a guy you hardly know to prom?
I have prom in three weeks and I've been thinking of asking this kid to prom. But I hardly know him. I've talked to him but rarely, I only see him in the hallways and we always say hi to each other, but I feel like it's weird to ask him when I don't even have his number and I'm not even sure if he's going. Help, I'm running out of time.

You have 3 weeks, and to be honest in order to get his number you are going to have to communicate with him. I think 3 weeks is enough to talk to him and make sure he gets the message that your interested in going to prom with him. Personally, I went on a school trip to New York and got along with this girl extremely well for about three days. In the end I did go to prom with her but later found out that ever since those three days, she has been waiting for me to ask her. Prom was one week after that trip, and it was one of the best nights I've had.
So overall definitely talk, flirt, and get to know him. Give him the sign of your interest and from there, if he reacts positively then you know you have him in your hands. It really all just depends on the person, it's only weird if you make it weird but if you just relax, be open minded, and don't even think about it you might be shocked at how fun the night will turn out.

It's only weird if he says no. He may be thrilled at the opportunity to go, it really depends. Ideally, you'd know him well enough to talk to him a little bit first though.
