Archie Moore 1955 vs Bernard Hopkins 2013?
This would pit histories two oldest warriors against each other, Hopkins has outboxed and defeated Tavoris Cloud and Jean Pascuel in rather convincing fashion. He looks to dominate the current crop of light heavyweights. Archie Moore dominated a good group of fighters in the 1950's. He somtimes fought at heavyweight. As a World Light Heavyweight Champion he fought Yvon Durelle of Canada, twice and Dulio Rinaldi. On Sept 21,1955 he challenged Rocky Marciano, and had him down in round 2, in his bid for Marciano's World Heavyweight Title. Marciano arose to stop Archie in round 9. Who would win this fight and why?

Hello Irene and excellent question as usual. Yes this is the classic match of the games two greatest fighters that defied father time so to speak as Hopkins recently became the oldest man (again) to win a Championship and the great Archie Moore who first won the light heavyweight title at the tender age of 39 and kept it until the age of 49! As you mentioned Hopkins just beat Cloud and Pascual in convincing fashion and what he's accomplished is certainly Hall of Fame worthy! Archie Moore holds the career mark for knockouts in a career with 130 and as you said, challenged Marciano for the heavyweight crown too and had him down for a short cont during their fight which turned out to be Marciano's last. I consider Archie Moore as the 3rd greatest light heavyweight of all time behind Tunney and Charles and the greatest light heavyweight Champion of all time. I believe Hopkins will go down in history as an all time great too as well he should. Anyway, this is how I see this fight going:
The fight
Archie Moore would come out behind that cross armed defense of his and looking for an opening with the defensive minded Hopkins as both men would box carefully from the start. Moore's punches would carry a little more authority as he was a bg time puncher but Hopkins would hold his own fighting skillfully and landing some good counter shots. In round 7 Moore would send Hopkins down to the canvas for a short count after a spirited exchange between the two. Hopkins would not be hurt and would survive the round. In rounds 8-10 Hopkins would make a good comeback but Moore would regain control in rounds 11-14 pulling slightly ahead. The last round would be exciting as both men would go all out as it's a close fight.
Winner by UD15 Archie Moore

as much as Bernard Hopkins has achieved, he pales in assessment so a approaches as greatness is going with Archie Moore who I regard via fact the final easy heavyweight Champion in boxing background. He holds the checklist of maximum occupation knockouts and fought a number of the very ultimate in his storied occupation. He even gave heavyweight Champion Marciano a sturdy run for the money and knocked him down and that i purely won't be able to see Hopkins being waiting to examine that. Hopkins i nicely experienced and an excellent shielding fighter and prefer Archie, has achieved plenty via fact the age of 40 himself. i think Moore could have taken the combat to Hopkins and could have been waiting to take something Hopkins threw at him and respond with the heavy artillery. Hopkins isn't basic yet i won't see him taking what Archie ought to throw at him,. Moore via 9th around technical knockout.

Archie Moore one of the all time great light heavy weights who was also a very good heavy weight, would knock Hopkins out at any age.
Moore was one of the smartest fighters of all time, and could figure out the distances between fighters so he would make the other guy land a little short and counter punch their lights out.
Moore had the power and brains to stop Hopkins and would do so in less than 10 rounds.

I'm going with Archie, fought better fighters in a better era.Bernard was a great fighter, but his era wasn't as strong, and he didn't have Archie's power.Moore beats Hopkins either by late stoppage, or Unanimous decision.

archie moore if he could drop the heavyweight champion he could ko hopkins moore also fought better fighters than hopkins
Source(s): the marciano fight was his last fight where he fought a good fight as a heavyweight patterson and ali beat him easily i think marciano made the old mongoose even older after marciano got up at the count of two he beat the shit out of moore archie even admitted he was never the same after his title fight with marciano - mauriceLv 78 years ago
both of these guys defied / defies father time, and both deserve their places in boxing history. it's difficult picking against one or the other, but i'd pick archie in a close one.
