I haven't lived there, but I was in northern Italy and have visited Rome frequently. Rome is a wonderful city full of history, ancient buildings, art and architecture. there are piazzas with beautiful fountains, local festivals, shopping, museums and galleries. There's also lots of excellent food.

I lived in Rome for 8 months and it was great.

Rome is very diverting, lots of things to do in spring and summer time even in the fall.

When I was there I took a language course so I met many nice people from around the world and the school frequently organized field trips to many places within the city of Rome.

Also, to other cities like Florence and Pisa, the mountains and some of the islands like: Capri, Sardinia, Stromboli, etc

The food is great and the night live is pretty cool, lots of nice bars and restaurants.

I highly recommend you stay for no less than a couple of months so you can fully enjoy Rome.
