The slices must have been different sizes. Josh ate one slice that was half a pizza in size. Lisa ate three slices that were one sixth of a pizza each and Vickie ate four slices that were one eighth of a pizza each.

    haha This is cute stuff.

Josh ate 1 slice which was cut half way through. In other words, the pizza was cut into only 2 equal pieces.

Lisa ate the pizza which was cut into 6 equal pieces and by eating 3 of those pieces, she ate 1/2 of a pizza. In other words, 3 of 6 is 3/6, simplify it and it becomes 1/2

Vicky ate a pizza which was cut into 8 equal pieces and by eating 4 pieces he ate 1/2 of the pizza.

In other words it's 4/8, simplify it and it becomes 1/2

There were 3 different pizzas. Josh's pizza was cut in half once, Lisa's was cut into 6 pieces, and Vicki's was cut into 8 pieces.

Im as lost as you are. So this is just a guess. They all hate 1/2 of a pizza each. Just there halfs were cut up in to different sizes

Each slice was a different size.
