I got upper dentures this past summer, is it common to hate them?

I can't begin to tell you how much I hate wearing dentures.

They are NOT comfortable and I hate to eat with them

When does the hate stop?

There's doubtless some swelling, but you are simply going to ought to wait and notice. The lab regularly extends the front flange of the denture out under the lip to ensure it doesn't intrude with the gum after the extractions. Consider that this denture is made on an altered model--the enamel are broken off and the mannequin is shaved to an approximation of what the gums will appear like after the extractions. It is possible that the denture flange is maintaining your lip out. It is particularly feasible that even if this is proper your lip will drape more frequently after just a few days as your musculature will get used to the denture. If now not, it is usually possible (as long as the role of the tooth is correct) to reline the denture (either chairside or at a lab) after which grind again the flange so it would not puff out your enamel. Your dentist will have to have told you that a reline will likely be critical in 6-12 months anyhow. Steve Bornfeld, DDS

As others have said, go back to the dentist with a list of your complaints and concerns. You should be adapting to them by now if they fit correctly. A lot of wearing dentures is related to attitude and acceptance. The first step is the dentist for a check up of the fit. A lot changes in your mouth within the first year.

You need to take them back in so they can adjust them. You may need many adjustments until they're right. Just keep taking them in.
