What can I use as a bird repellent?
Birds like to build a nest in my front door decorative wreath. If I open the door too quickly one flies into my house ! ( : Do you know of anything that I can use to repel or discourage birds from doing this? Perhaps some kind of non-toxic spray ?

Short of taking the wreath down during nesting season, the only thing I can think of is to put something over the wreath which keeps the birds out, perhaps some sort of fine mesh netting or even some clear plastic wrap. It might not look very attractive from up close, but from street side, it may not even be noticeable. If this doesn't work and the birds peck through it to make their nest anyway, consider taking the wreath down and replacing it with a seasonal placard or something flat. Maybe you could purchase a fake birds nest with eggs at your craft store and add it to your wreath.
