My new car grinds the gear shifting into reverse???? Why?

I bought a 2013 Corolla S and it's a 5 speed stick in October. I've never have problems for the forward 5 gears but for some reason when I shift to reverse, even though I have the clutch firmly to the floor, it grinds the gear lately, only 3 times so far but still... It has also been hard to shift into that gear sometimes. It doesn't always happen. I have a warranty on my car. Any ideas as to why this is happening? I'm going to have Toyota check it when I take it in but I can't figure out why the 5 forward gears work fine, but reverse is giving me trouble....

The reverse gear works on a cog that only work when you put the car in reverse ,and it could be that the cog is out of line .

There are various possibilities. One, you at the instant are not pushing the seize all a thank you to the floor, opposite is slightly pickier approximately that than forward gears. 2, you have something incorrect including your seize mechanism (out of adjustment, or in some automobiles air in a hydraulic line) or in user-friendly terms a worn seize disc or throwout bearing it extremely is holding the seize from thoroughly disengaging. I certainly have an MG Midget that did this, it replaced right into a slave cylinder pushrod that had bent so the seize does not circulate each and every of ways. 3, you have a wiped out synchro on your transmission. With a 23-3 hundred and sixty 5 days-previous automobile, any of those is available. The Cartalk adult adult males might advise you are trying the seize, by utilizing putting the front bumper against something motionless like a tree, putting the parking brake, positioned the automobile in 5th kit and attempt to force forward. If the engine does not die, you have a wiped out seize disc and additionally you would be wanting a clean seize, yet the two way you will probable want one once you are trying this.

Two tips can help with this.

Time-press in your clutch and wait about 5 seconds until you attempt to go into reverse.

First gear-with the clutch pressed down go into first gear first then go into reverse. This sort of lines up the gears and makes it easier to get into reverse.

Give these a try and you will eventally get into the habit of it.
