Unusual beings, who are often considered "undead" or "vampire"?

But what is Dracula? What is Freddy Krueger? What is Jason Voorhees?

And could there be a benevolent version of these beings or entities?

Keep in mind I ask this question for the sake of their story and for entertainment purposes only.

Update:

I KNOW they're fictional. I explained that in my last sentence. I want to know what they are considered to be within their stories.

Well Dracula was actually a real person, so he really is rarely put among these people. Dracula was a malicious vampire that considered himself the "Prince of Darkness." Freddy Kruger is an undying spirit that can only travel the plain of existence that our minds create. Jason Vorhees is an undead zombie or a "Deadite" in "Evil Dead" terms.
