Had trouble accessing desktop?
I had shut down my computer last night and it was updating files that were downloaded prior to turning off. However,this morning as I turned it on..after applying..you configuring the files and all...it gave me some message about not being able to access the desktop and the background was blank. I couldn't even change my theme...but at least i was able to access my IE...so I rebooted the computer and the desktop was back..thankfully..just would like to know what caused this in the first place

Hello Larry,
In Windows 7 following some updates, it can take some time on booting up, to reach the Desktop which can remain black for some time. It appears to be normal, but fortunately only happens occasionally.
I do not know the mechanics of how this is caused, but a more general answer is that it is caused by the system digesting its update!
