can a civilian own a belt fed machine gun?

along the lines of a Mk48 or M240b

(MK48 looks like a beefier M249 Saw that fires 7.62)

i noticed you cant have select fire in an AR platform rifle however there are minimal laws restricting

belt fed fully automatic weapons

so out of curiosity what would it take to own say a 240B

im active duty military and i at some point my goal is to have a larger collection than Charlton Heston

will it happen probably not but i can dream cant i lol?

If you have $25,000+ dollars, can get a Federal Class 3 permit ($500 application fee) and do not live on-base you have a chance.
