Java is notorious for keeping parts of its former self around, either in binaries or as registry entries.

    1. I'd start with control panel > programs and features and uninstall every possible version of Java that is displayed.

    2. I personally think the Ask toolbar is unnecessary, delete it (or keep it if you like to use it.)

    3. Then, like another responder said, run ccleaner against your system to clean up the old stuff http://www.piriform.com/ Run both the "Cleaner" and the "Registry" cleaner. (You may want to do the registry cleaner two or three times to get everything)

    4. (Belt and suspenders) -- download and run Glary Utilities against your system ... it finds a lot that ccleaner doesn't and ccleaner finds things that Glary doesn't. http://www.glarysoft.com/

    5. Restart the system.

    6. Reinstall Java http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

... you should be good to go.

Pogo revenue is generated partly from advertising, therefore you must allow 3rd party cookies.

You haven't mentioned a word about what browser you use so we can't possibly tell you anything helpful.

To get answers that are more specific, give us DETAILS.
