How do you look up your apartment building code and health violations in the past year?
My apartment has been in the news many times for building code violations but I don't know how to look them up. I put the name of the place in google and all that comes up is past stories or apartment listings.

If they are on the internet it will be because the health department has made them available over the net. So why not cut out the middleman and go directly to their site. Usually it is your city but sometimes it is the county- in a very few areas it is the state.
If you don't find anything that way- walk into the health department office and ask them in person. I have always found them to be open and helpful.

Contact the building and health departments. If the records are public they will give them to you.
