Who can recommend a reading list for me for the Lovecraft / Cthulhu Mythos genre?
I would like to read a few books (maybe up to ten if I find myself enjoying them) in the Cthulhu mythos genre, but I don't know where to start. Can I have some recommendations please?
I would be happy to read one or two of Lovecraft's own novels, the most important ones to the mythos, but I would be more interested in reading some of the best works by other great authors, including more recent writers. I am also interested in any good movies, comic books, computer games, etc.

1. Start with the short silent black and white film "Call of Cthulhu"
Then:
2. Necronomicon: The Best Weird Tales of H.P. Lovecraft
(don't try to read all of them, but do read At The Mountains of Madness, and The Dunwich Horror)
3. Tales of the Lovecraft Mythos
(classic tales by other writers)
4. New Cthulhu: The Recent Weird
(more recent tales from the likes of Neil Gaiman)
5. Neonomicon
(Alan Moore's great homage to Lovecraft in comic book form)
