Is the hep B vaccine in the US the same as those used in other nations?

Our kids need vaccines while living overseas. I cannot find any info about differences in vaccines used between nations.

Yes, the only vaccine being marketed is the recombinant HBV-HBsAg vaccine produced in yeast. If you get the vaccine overseas, just ask your health care provider what type of vaccine you are getting. You could also ask for the package insert that comes with every package of vaccine to see for yourself what you are getting. In the States, the ones I am familiar with are Engerix made by Glaxo-Smith-Kline (GSK), and Recombivax made by Merck. There are also some combination vaccines containing the HBV along with Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis, and a Pedirix formulation for kids, made by the same manufacturers.
