Is the Trevi Fountain owned by the Italian Government?

Is it owned and maintained by Italian Government, Rome or is it Privately owned?

    No it is not owned by the Italian Government, it is owned by the Italian STATE, which is a far different thing. The coins thrown into the fountain go to the Municipality of Rome.

    It's owned by the italian government.

    Similar to a museum, they supervise, for the tourists and the public.
