Your Music, are files stored on a hard rive, if its a single MECHANICAL drive it has avrge acces time (that means it takes time for the hard drive to access the place when the files are stored.
if you have lots of files, when you browse them, you send the hard drive to look for them it could take time and maybe that's why it comes back to you more slowly.
to resolve this issue you could do one of the following:
1. run a defragment on that hard drive
2. using a raid 1(mirror) with two (same size) hard drives will increase performance
3. use of SSD hard drive (smaller sizes and very expensive)

You just need to reformat your computer, its essentially like defragging except it stores everything and wipes the spam. Yo.u should get at least an extra 25% performance. Hope that helps

defragment of course also experiment with the indexing service in control panel have it set to index only what you want Ie mp3/4 that may improve the searches and run a check disk before you dfragment right click C: properties tools disk checking.
